GRP Range click for details

Q1 Where do I obtain Rainguard products?

Rainguard products are available direct from us here in Leeds or through most local/national builders merchants.

Q2 How available is your GRP range of rainwater goods?

As our GRP range is handmade, each order is treated separately. Lead times are generally 5 days for hoppers and 14 days for complete systems.

Q3 Can we have the GRP system in any colour?

Yes you can. We manufacture most products in black however, it is just as easy to manufacture in a colour. Choose from the BS Colour Range or RAL Colour range. A small premium may apply for powder coating brackets if applicable.

Q4 How long will the GRP range last for before it needs re painting?

All our GRP products are through coloured using the finest materials available. GRP Colours are very UV stable and, as such, will not fade in sunlight like some uPVC products. This stability gives the product a life of 25 years before re painting is necessary. This may be reduced in coastal environments.

Q5 Can I use my own joint sealant?

Whilst we cannot insist that our own brand silicone is used we can advise that comprehensive testing has taken place using Yeoman Sealant to ensure the best adhesion/water tightness available.

Q7 Can I have a radius gutter in your GRP range?

Yes you can. GRP is perfect for radius gutters as we can make moulds so suit any radius. These are usually supplied in 1.0m lengths and radius template would be required.

Q8 Can you match an existing cast iron gutter?

Yes we can. If we are provided with an original gutter we can sandblast this and then take a mould from it. We can then produce lengths of gutter that will be exactly the same as before, down to each little blemish.

Aluminium Rangeclick for details

Q1 Where do I obtain Rainguard products?

Rainguard products are available direct from us here in Leeds or through most local/national builders merchants.

Q2 How available is your XL range of aluminium rainwater goods?

Most items are held in stock in Black textured finish so delivery should be 3-5 days. If you require another colour then please contact our sales office on 0113 279 5854 for an exact delivery date.

Q3 Can you supply aluminium in mill finish?

Yes we can. We do however put the aluminium through our pre treatment process first though to ensure the products come to you free from extrusion oils etc.

Q4 Can it be fitted unpainted?

Yes it can. Once exposed to the elements, the aluminium will slowly oxidize to a dull grey colour. The oxidization will protect the aluminium from any further weathering.

Q5 How long will the XL range last for if it is coated Black?

Our products undergo a four part pre treatment process prior to powder coating followed by a two stage inspection prior to the goods being despatched. We have random sampling of production which then undergoes a rigorous salt water testing process. Cut ends should always be touched up using the touch up paint provided.

These tests indicate an anticipated life span before refinishing of 25 years plus for inland locations and approximately 15 years in coastal environments.

Q6 Can I use my own joint sealant?

Whilst we cannot insist that our own brand silicone is used we can advise that comprehensive testing has taken place using Yeoman Sealant to ensure the best adhesion/water tightness available.

Q7 Can I have a radius gutter in your XL range?

We would not recommend a radius gutter in aluminium as to manufacture we would have to facet the curve which would then resemble a fifty pence piece. Aesthetically we think this is inappropriate.

We do have a solution however and that is to have your radius manufactured in our GRP material in which we can make smooth radii and finish them to look like the XL aluminium range. Contact our sales office on 0113 279 5854 for further details.

Cast Iron Range click for details

Q1 Where do I obtain Rainguard products?

Rainguard products are available direct from us here in Leeds or through most local/national builders merchants.

Q2 How available is your Cast Iron range of rainwater goods?

Half round gutters and round pipes are available from stock. Moulded gutters and square pipes will be about 14 – 21 days.

Q3 How does the Cast Iron arrive?

Cast Iron will arrive in a grey primer ready for onsite painting. Any blemishes should be spot primed prior to applying a further two under coats and one top coat of a good quality exterior paint. For coastal areas consult your local paint specialist.

We can supply the cast iron in a pre painted black finish as an extra.

Q4 How long will the Cast Iron range last for before it needs re painting?

Generally speaking, depending on location, the cast iron will need repainting every 3 to 5 years.

If the pre painted finish is supplied this should last 10 years in normal conditions.

Q5 Can I use my own joint sealant?

Whilst we cannot insist that our own brand silicone is used we can advise that comprehensive testing has taken place using Yeoman Sealant to ensure the best adhesion/water tightness available.

Q6 Do you have more profiles available than those shown in your brochure?

Yes we do. We have many other profiles available. Contact our Sales Office on 0113 279 5854 with your requirements so we can check our special profile register.
