A GRP (glass fibre reinforced moulding) system is ideal for those who desire the classic look that a Cast Iron rainwater system upholds but require a more lightweight material that is tough, durable and long lasting.Its versatility means it can be adapted for both traditional and modern properties, making it an idyllic choice for home owners.
The properties of GRP also allow mouldings to be taken of original castings to be made as a replacement whilst guttering can be formed to accommodate a particular roof line radius
On older buildings, such as listed properties or heritage sites, GRP is an ideal replacement for previously installed systems that have succumbed to the elements, maintaining the traditional aesthetic of the property. For new builds, Rainguard’s GRP systems can be that finishing touch, adding value and character to your home.
A complete rainwater system consists of multiple products including:
|What Is It?||Average Life Cycle|
|GRP Guttering||GRP guttering catches rainfall, averting it from damaging the exterior of your property. It’s is a vital part of an effective rainwater solution.||30 Years|
|GRP Downpipes||The downpipes transport the water from the guttering to a drain or water butt, preventing further damage to the brickwork and building foundations||30 Years|
|GRP Hoppers||Although hoppers are frequently used to add decoration to a rainwater system and aren’t generally considered a fundamental element, they do allow for 66% more rainwater to be funneled through the downpipes, making them an efficient addition.||30 Years|
A GRP rainwater system promises to deliver a number of advantages that make it easier to decipher what material is right for you including:
GRP’s high versatility means that it can be adapted to meet your requirements. It can be constructed in any style with bespoke options available to match original building designs helping to maintain the traditional building image. Not only does it add value to a home through the design features but also with its stability, efficiency and durability.
